How fitting that I read about this online…
I saw this on MSNBC.com this morning:
Poll: One in four adults read no books last year
One in four adults read no books at all in the past year, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll released Tuesday. Of those who did read, women and older people were most avid, and religious works and popular fiction were the top choices.
I’m only slightly more well-read then the 1/4 of folks who didn’t read anything.
Of course, this begs for a current book list:
- All Families are Psychotic by Douglas Coupland
- Generation X by Douglas Coupland
- The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
- Hollywood Station by Joseph Wambaugh
Up next: The Road by Cormac McCarthy

Said this at 10:27am:i don’t like books. it’s a patience thing. it’s just like some people don’t care much for movies. just because books came first, doesn’t mean they’re any more culturally important. there are far more bad books than there are bad movies.
